Islanders 4, Predators 3
Brock Nelson's goal with 6:08 left gave the New York Islanders a wild 4-3 win over the Nashville Predators, who lost their fifth straight.
Mike Ribeiro and Craig Smith scored for Nashville in a 33-second span midway through the third period to tie the game at 3-3 but the Predators could not finish the Isles off.
Nashville (41-18-7), who boasted the NHL's best record until recently, had not suffered two straight regulation losses until Saturday's defeat to Detroit.
John Tavares netted his 31st goal of the season for the Islanders (42-21-3), who also got a goal from Anders Lee, his 22nd.

Kings 4, Canadiens 3 (Shootout)
Shootout goals by Anze Kopitar, Jeff Carter and Marian Gaborik lifted the Los Angeles Kings to a 4-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.
Gaborik, who had two goals in regulation, forced the extra session by scoring on a power play with 45 seconds left in the third period.
Max Pacioretty's 31st goal of the season, on a beautiful feed from David Desharnais at 7:12 of the third period, gave the Canadiens a 3-2 lead, but they could not hold it.
Goalie Jonathan Quick recorded 15 saves for the Kings (31-21-12), who remain tied with the Calgary Flames for third place in the Pacific Division.
Montreal fell to 41-18-6.

Wild 2, Capitals 1
Jason Pominville netted two third-period goals 5:09 apart, leading the Wild to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Washington Capitals.
The win was the Wild's fourth straight and improved their record since the All-Star break to a league-best 15-2-1.
Minnesota (35-22-7) moved past the Winnipeg Jets and into the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference, five points ahead of the Kings and San Jose Sharks, who are tied for ninth.
The Capitals (35-21-10) were playing without NHL leading goal scorer Alex Ovechkin, who was sidelined for the first time this season due to a lower-body injury.

Flyers 3, Blues 1
Michael Del Zotto and Wayne Simmonds scored less than two minutes apart in the third period to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-1 win over the St. Louis Blues.
The Flyers (28-25-12) trailed 1-0 for much of the night before making the breakthrough, which saw Michael Raffl add a late score as well.
St. Louis' (40-19-5) Jaden Schwartz netted a goal in the first period.
Flyers goaltender Steve Mason and Blues netminder Brian Elliott went toe-to-toe, with each making 28 saves in the game.

Flames 4, Bruins 3 (SO)
Defenseman David Schlemko, playing his first game with his third NHL team of the season, scored a fancy goal in the eighth round of the shootout, giving Calgary a 4-3 win over Boston.
Schlemko, who has just nine goals in 213 NHL games and played only seven of the 65 minutes in the game, put all kinds of moves on goaltender Tuukka Rask before sliding the puck in with one hand.
Flames (35-25-4) goalie Karri Ramo 34 shots in the win.
Boston (31-22-10) got goals from Brad Marchand, Milan Lucic and Loui Eriksson.

Lightning 4, Maple Leafs 2
Scoring two goals in the first period and two in the third, the Lightning beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 for their 14th victory in 16 home games.
The Lightning (40-20-6) improved to 24-6-1 at home, with only the Nashville Predators having more home wins.
Nikita Kucherov notched his 24th goal of the season, Ryan Callahan got his 21st and Tampa Bay goalie Ben Bishop stopped 25 shots to earn his 32nd win of the season.
The Maple Leafs (26-34-5) continued their road struggles, falling to 8-21-5 away from Toronto.

Coyotes 3, Canucks 2 (Shootout)
Coyotes goalie Mike Smith made 32 saves and Sam Gagner scored the lone goal in the shootout as Arizona avoided setting a franchise-record losing streak.
The victory ended the Coyotes' 10-game skid.
Tobias Rieder and B.J. Crombeen scored in regulation for Arizona (21-37-7), who led 2-0 before Vancouver (36-24-4) rallied on scores from Chris Higgins and Radim Vrbata.

Stars 4, Panthers 3 (SO)
Colton Sceviour, in the third and final round of the shootout, scored the only goal of the session, converting on a backhand move to lead Dallas to a 4-3 win over Florida.
The Stars had tied the score at 3-3 on a goal by defenseman Alex Goligoski with 7:39 left in the third.
Dallas (29-26-10) moved past the idle Colorado Avalanche and out of last place in the Central Division. (Compiled by Jahmal Corner; Editing by Peter Rutherford)
