Islanders stay on winning track against Ottawa

Defenseman Thomas Hickey scored with 1:54 left in overtime as the New York Islanders continued their winning ways with a 3-2 victory over Ottawa at Nassau Coliseum.

Islanders 3, Senators 2
Hickey's wraparound ticked off the skate of Senators defenseman Cody Cedi and trickled past goalie Craig Anderson as the Islanders completed their eighth overtime win of the season.
Center Brock Nelson and center Ryan Strome scored in regulation for New York and goalie Jaroslav Halak made 16 saves in winning his franchise-record-tying 10th successive start.
Center Mike Hoffman and left winger Clarke MacArthur scored for Ottawa, while Anderson made 25 saves.

Hurricanes 2, Predators 1
Victor Rask and Jeff Skinner scored and Cam Ward stopped 32 of 33 shots as Carolina snapped Nashville's four-game winning streak.
Carolina took a 1-0 lead into the third period before Rask beat Pekka Rinne with a shot from the top of the circle that deceived the goalie as he tried to catch the knuckling puck.
It was Rask's fourth goal of the season.

Marc-Andre Fleury notched his league-leading fifth shutout of the season while Evgeni Malkin scored the only goal as Pittsburgh beat New Jersey.
Fleury stopped 29 shots and was the 33rd shutout of the veteran goaltender's 11-year career.

Vancouver center Henrik Sedin set up his twin brother, left winger Daniel, for two power-play goals in a win over Washington.
Washington defenseman John Carlson scored twice while Brooks Laich added another.

Centers Cody Hodgson and Tyler Ennis scored in the shootout to lead Buffalo over Tampa Bay.
Center Zemgus Girgensons scored in regulation for Buffalo, who have now won six of their last seven games. Goalie Jhonas Enroth made 26 saves in the win.

Maple Leafs 5, Stars 3
Right winger Joffrey Lupul scored two goals and center Mike Santorelli added three assists as Toronto defeated Dallas.
Center Tyler Bozak scored a goal in his fourth successive game, and center Nazem Kadri scored a goal and added two assists.
Toronto right winger Phil Kessel also scored his first goal in six games.

Center Vincent Trocheck scored a goal and made two assists, leading Florida to a win over Detroit at Joe Louis Arena.
Right winger Jimmy Hayes had a goal and an assist and left winger Sean Bergenheim and defenseman Aaron Ekblad also scored for Florida while goaltender Roberto Luongo stopped 38 shots.
