The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired forward Alex Ponikarovsky in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Penguins sent defenseman Martin Skoula and minor-league forward Luca Caputi to Toronto in exchange for the 29-year-old.
Ponikarovsky has 19 goals and 44 points in 61 games this season. At 6ft-4in he is a big target and is set to become a free agent in the offseason.
The deal comes one day after the defending Stanley Cup champions also picked up defenseman Jordan Leopold through a trade with Florida.
