Two games that went down to the wire involving Pittsburgh and San Jose lead the highlights for Saturday night's NHL action.

Penguins 5, Canucks 4

Evgeni Malkin scored his 10th career hat-trick as the Pittsburgh Penguins twice rallied from two-goal deficits to edge the Vancouver Canucks 5-4.
The Penguins scored four consecutive goals in the third period to overcome Jannik Hansen's hat-trick for Vancouver.

Sharks 4, Wild 3

Joe Pavelski scored the tiebreaking goal at 18:36 of the third period as the San Jose Sharks beat the Minnesota Wild 4-3 at SAP Center.
Pavelski's 23rd goal of the season, his NHL-leading eighth game-winner, came on a wrist shot from above the left circle after Joe Thornton won an offensive-zone draw.

Devils 3, Jets 1

Former Winnipeg winger Lee Stempniak came back to haunt his former team by scoring a pair of goals in a 3-1 victory for the New Jersey Devils.
Stempniak played a crucial role in the Jets' playoff drive last year, but was not offered a contract by the team in the off-season.

Ducks 4, Red Wings 3

Corey Perry and Ryan Kelser each scored twice as the Anaheim Ducks held on for a 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena.
Rickard Rakell and Jakob Silfverberg each had two assists and goalie John Gibson made 24 saves for Anaheim.

Panthers 5, Lightning 2

In a game between the top two teams in the Atlantic Division, Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal and an assist as the first-place Florida Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-2 at the BB&T Center.
Florida (28-15-5) completed a thrilling weekend in which they went 2-0, outscoring the 2015 Stanley Cup finalists -- the Chicago Blackhawks and the Lightning -- by a combined 9-2.

Bruins 3, Blue Jackets 2, (shootout)

Boston blew a two-goal lead in the second period but managed to pull out a 3-2 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Ryan Spooner and Torey Krug scored and goaltender Jonas Gustavsson stopped both shots in the shootout as the Bruins won for the fourth time in their last five.
