TT 2013: Three for Dunlop with Superstock win

He beat Gary Johnson by more than 16s and was only three seconds outside the outright lap record set by John McGuinness on Sunday.

Johnson led the race until Glen Helen on the final lap then suffered machinery problems.

Dunlop increased his lead from 0.137s at the first checkpoint to a final margin of 16.577 as they crossed the line for the last time, equalling his dad's record of five TT wins.

All eyes must now be turning to Ian Hutchinson's record of five in a week.

McGuinness took his second podium of the week but was 46s in arrears while Dean Harrison, on the RC/MSS Kawasaki, took advantage first of a pitlane speeding penalty from Guy Martin then the Lincolnshire man's retirement at Glen Duff to finish in fourth place, just ahead of the still-ill Bruce Anstey.

James Hiller put in another solid ride to finish in sixth place, just ahead of Michael Rutter with Steve Mercer, William Dunlop and Ben Wylie completing the top ten.

Simon Andrews upped his pace on the last lap to bag 11th place ahead of Lee Johnston, veteran Ian Lougher, Mark Parrett and Dan Cooper in 15th. Karl Harris finished in 16th while Josh Brookes had to pit in for a stretched chain at the end of lap one.
