Argentina opened the floodgates in the second half against Georgia and recorded a resounding 54-9 win with a bonus point at Kingsholm in Pool C of the World Cup.
Nicolas Sanchez began the scoring in the sixth minute with the tournament's first drop goal, but up until half-time Georgia managed to keep within touching distance of the Pumas. Tomas Lavanini was the only man to manage a try in the opening 40 minutes but both Sanchez and Merab Kvirikashvili did well with the boot.
Georgia's talismanic captain Mamuka Gorgodze was warned shortly after half-time that a sin-bin was imminent if he did not do something about his team's tackling, and was shown the yellow card himself shortly afterwards.

It was at this point that the points began to mount up, with wingers Juan Imhoff and Santiago Cordero grabbing two tries apiece and Tomas Cubelli scoring one of his own. Sanchez and Marcelo Bosch shared the kicking duties, and Georgia had no reply.
Next up for Argentina is Tonga, who will have been watching keenly - and who will have been worried by the ease with which the Pumas repeatedly cut open Georgia in the final half hour.

TALKING POINT
Did Gorgodze deserve sin bin? Some pundits were questioning whether or not Gorgodze deserved that sin-binning - the replays showed that it was a fairly borderline call. Had he stayed on the park it's possible that the deficit might have been smaller - but surely Argentina would have stretched their legs at some point anyway... wouldn't they?

KEY MOMENTS
10' TRY! Argentina 8-0 Georgia: Lavanini is the man who gets the ball over the line, despite having two men to his right ready to help out if need be.
45' SIN-BIN! Gorgodze can't say he wasn't warned.
47' TRY! Argentina 19-9 Georgia: Cubelli's try isn't inconclusive at all there, great overlapping run from the scrum and there's nothing that can be done to stop that.
49' TRY! Argentina 26-9 Georgia: And what a fantastic run from Juan Imhoff, a wonderful turn of pace to slice through Georgia.
53' TRY! Argentina 33-9 Georgia: More blasting pace, this time from Cordero, worked well from a line-out. Bonus point try.
70' TRY! Argentina 40-9 Georgia: Opportunist or what? Martin Landajo throws himself acrobatically over the line. Good stuff, scrum half.
72' TRY! Argentina 47-9 Georgia: A second try for Cordero, another impressive burst of pace combined with some neat footwork on the right wing.
76' TRY! Argentina 54-9 Georgia: How are live-text commentators supposed to keep up with this? The other winger takes Argentina past the half-century of points - Imhoff gathering safely and taking it over.
