Kelly Clark and Ryo Aono moved into pole position in the race for the Crystal Glove after claiming victory in the women's and men's second halfpipe World Cup event of the season at Mammoth Mountain.
After a tricky weekend which saw challenging weather conditions led to several postponements of the qualifiers, it all came down to straight finals in a two-run best one counts final.
American Clark stood out immediately scoring a decent 82.40 as the first to drop in before improving that to 93.80 on her second run to take victory.
Second went to 15-year-old Chloe on her World Cup debut with 87.40 while fellow debutant Maddie Mastro was third on 83.20 as the US team completed a clean sweep of the podium.
"It's been amazing to see what Mammoth has been able to this week, putting the pipe together, and making the right call for the riders, because not every comp does that. I'm glad we were able to get the contest off today. It's been a tough week of weather," said Clark.
"I was able to really go for it on my second run. I was really happy with my riding today and it was a big confidence booster for me."
Meanwhile in the men's event, 2009 world champion Aono held off the American challenge with a high score of 91.20 on his first run.
Chase Josey was closest to the Japanese rider on 90.20 while Gabe Ferguson placed third on 85.80.
The result leaves Aono on 1,450 points in the World Cup standings after two of four competitions this season, 360 ahead of Josey.
While in the women's standings, Clark moves onto 1,400 points, 400 clear of Xuetong Cai.
