China have topped the medals table at the FINA World Championships with 14 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze.

It is the first time that the USA have not topped the FINA World Championships table since 2001.

The United States had some consolation by winning the men's 4 x 100m medley relay on a dramatic last day of action.

Unfortunately for Britain, Hannah Miley was unable to add to their haul when she was pipped to the bronze in the 400m medley by Emily Overholt of Canada. Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu won the event.

More to follow.
