Kyle Edmund will make his Davis Cup debut in this weekend's final, after Great Britain and Ireland captain Leon Smith named his side to face Belgium on Thursday.

Edmund, 20, has been given the nod by Smith for the match on clay in Ghent - with the world No. 100's recent victory in a challenger tournament in Argentina on the same surface seemingly swaying Smith's decision.
Not only will Edmund make his debut in the competition on the biggest stage of all but he will also get the final underway, as he faces world No. 16 David Goffin in the opening singles on Saturday.
Edmund joins stalwarts Andy Murray and Jamie Murray in the team, with James Ward the fourth member available to Smith. World No. 2 Murray is second up on Friday against Ruben Bemelmans, while he and his brother are currently scheduled to face Kimmer Coppejans and Steve Darcis in Saturday's potentially decisive doubles encounter.

That could change depending on Friday's results - if Edmund and Murray both deliver points on Friday, the younger Murray might conceivably be rested ahead of his second singles encounter - while Ward's presence in the squad means Smith has another option if Edmund struggles against Goffin for Sunday's concluding matches.
While Ward, who has played a significant role in Great Britain's passage to this stage, will feel disappointed not to get the nod for either of the opening matches, it is Dominic Inglot who is perhaps the unluckier player - the doubles specialist left out entirely in order to give Smith greater singles flexibility.
Speaking prior to the announcement, Edmund said he would be ready to rise to the occasion if he was given the nod.
"If I get into that situation, it's something I'm going to have to deal with," Edmund told BBC Sport. "At the end of the day, it still is a tennis match.
"Even with experience or no experience, whoever plays is going to be nervous because it's a Davis Cup final. I think that's normal. I'll just deal with it, if I play."
Edmund may have some inkling of what is to come, having been a member of the 2011 Great Brtain side that won the Junior Davis Cup.
