French Open, Day Three Order of play: TV details, match of the day, potential upsets and more

Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams continue their quest to match the best of tennis yesteryear when they open their respective campaigns at Roland Garros on Tuesday.

Djokovic is third on Philippe Chatrier against Lu Yen-Hsun of Taiwan while Williams rounds off the day against Slovakia's Magdalena Rybarikova. Both are top seeds in the men's and women's draw, but neither Djokovic nor Williams will think too much about losing in the first round. Yet both are well aware of what could lie ahead for them further down the line. Or
Williams continues her quest to win a 22nd Grand Slam, and a third chance to equal Steffi Graf's record haul in the Open era. Djokovic is playing a fifth Grand Slam when he has the chance to complete the career Grand Slam, and the bid to win all four majors at least once in in his career.
Williams has lost in her last two Grand Slam finals to Roberta Vinci in the US Open semi-finals only two wins from the calendar Grand Slam last September. She then lost in the Australian Open final to Angelique Kerber five months ago.
Meanwhile, Djokovic is bidding to join Roger Federer and Rafael Naldal as only the sixth man in the Open era to win all four Grand Slams.

MATCH OF THE DAY

Rafael Nadal is always worth watching at his most successful venue, and it will be interesting to see what sort of form he takes to the court against the big Aussie Sam Groth, a figure with arguably the biggest serve in the sport. Nadal is bidding for a 10th title at Roland Garros, but is no longer viewed as the untouchable 'King of Clay' he was a few years ago when he washed up here.

Injuries do that to a player, but Nadal can send out a message with a convincing performance against Groth. Groth is ranked 100 in the world, but has never played Nadal as a professional. He will give this a good go even if Nadal should come through it.

POTENTIAL UPSET OF THE DAY

Fair enough, Andy Murray looked like he was going to coast past Radek Stepanek when the players were forced off court due to bad light on Monday night, but he is still in a spot of bother against a 37-year-old Czech who will have the luxury of resting his legs before they play to a finish on Tuesday. Stepanek has already show more than enough here to show he should not be taken lightly.

Stepanek has no chance of winning this title, but he starts 2-1 up on the British number one and must feel like he still has a decent chance of completing a huge upset if Murray lacks the same intensity that got him into such a tricky spot.

Britain's Johanna Konta

Johanna Konta became a sensation at the Australian Open in January as she became the first British woman since Jo Durie in 1983 to make it to the semi-finals of a grand slam tournament. She has a very tough first round opponent in the form of Germany's Julia Goerges, the world number 57 and a player who made it as far as the fourth round last year. It's about as tough as it gets for a player seeded 20th; Konta is last up on Court 14, and it the weather's as bad as it has been the last few days she may well have to wait until Wednesday to play.
Also in action - and indeed first up on Court 14 - is Aljaz Bedene, who switched allegiance from Slovenia to Britain last year. He's the world number 66, and faces Austrian journeyman Gerald Melzer.
Finally, there's Laura Robson, last up on court 2 against 28th seed Andrea Petkovic. Injury problems have seen Robson's ranking plummet, and she's barely played this year. Sadly, all signs point to her French Open being over and done with inside an hour.
