Fernando Gonzalez says he needs to be aggressive in order to break his duck against Roger Federer in the Madrid Masters final and earn vital points toward qualifying for the year-ending Masters Cup.

Switzerland's World No. 1 has dominated the series with the Chilean, winning all seven of their matches together.
Gonzalez recalls being quickly brought to heel the last time the two played, when Federer won in straight sets at the Toronto Masters in August.
"I lost the first in 20 minutes. He played unbelievable one set," Gonzalez told reporters after demolishing Tomas Berdych in Saturday's second semi-final.
"After I got into the match it was close. But again I can't wait. I have to go in, I have to hit the ball, and I have to win the match. I have to go for it. I can't wait."
Gonzo is ranked 10th in the world, but after reaching the final in Vienna last weekend and now the Madrid Masters closing round he stands a good chance of qualifying for November's Masters Cup in Shanghai.
But he did not want to get to cocky about his odds of making the tournament.
"Yeah. Maybe. Who knows? I don't want to think about that now," Gonzalez replied when asked if he was encouraged about the Masters Cup.
"If I want to go to the Masters, I need to win a match. If I start concentrating on many things at the same time, I won't be concentrating for the match."
Gonzalez admitted that if Federer had any flaws, they were "really small ones."
"I have to go for the match. I can't wait," the 26-year-old said. "If you wait, he'll pass over you, and that's it. So I'm going to try to pass him."
Meanwhile, Federer is trying to keep alive an 18-game winning streak and win his 10th title of another dominant season.
Though he's controlled the series in the past, Federer credited Gonzalez with always giving him challenging matches.
"I've had some good matches with Fernando, even though I beat him every time," the Swiss star said. "I think he's improved over the last few years. He's become more steady. His forehand is still as dangerous as always."
"I know he can play very well indoors," Federer added.
"I think the indoor takes away that sun and wind and everything factor. So he hits the ball even better. It's a difficult match."
For his part Gonzalez was not focused solely on his own match in Madrid on Sunday.
"I hope Real Madrid wins," Gonzalez said, referring to Sunday evening's Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona. "The important thing is that they win."
