US Open 2017 - Martina Hingis wins 25th Grand Slam title with doubles triumph

Martina Hingis won her 25th career Grand Slam title as she and Chan Yung-Jan won the US Open women’s doubles title 6-3 6-2 against Lucie Hradecka and Katerina Siniakova.
The milestone comes just 24 hours after she won the mixed doubles title at Flushing Meadows with Britain's Jamie Murray.
Hingis and Chan were in total control, never facing a break point while converting three of their own and completing the victory in 64 minutes.
In the 21 years since scooping her first major title in the 1996 Wimbledon doubles, Hingis has won five Grand Slam singles titles, seven in mixed doubles and now 13 in doubles.
The 36-year-old’s achievement is made all the more remarkable by the 13-year gap between her 2002 Australian Open doubles title and her next at Wimbledon in 2015.
"Two in two days; I was Michael Jordan's number 23 when I started here and now 25 sounds even sweeter," said Hingis, who played the U.S. Open singles final on the same Arthur Ashe Stadium court 20 years ago, beating Venus Williams.
"It was an amazing feeling to play here in the singles final against Venus Williams," Hingis said. "We were two teenagers making the finals playing here for the first time at Ashe Stadium and coming back 20 years later it is a wonderful journey."
