Wimbledon 2017 women's seeds: Johanna Konta seeded sixth with Petra Kvitova eleventh

British number one Johanna Konta has been given the sixth seeding for this year's edition of Wimbledon, with two-time winner Petra Kvitova seeded at 11.

Konta, who recently finished runner-up at Nottingham, takes sixth as the seeding is made based on the rankings - with most players move up one place due to Serena Williams' absence from the tour.

Konta has won the Miami Masters and the Sydney International already this season and is the only female British seed.

Kvitova, who this season made her comeback after being stabbed in the wrist during a burglary at her home, is seeded 11th following her win in Birmingham and makes up a strong grouping just outside the top nine.

Venus Williams is 10th with Kristina Mladenovic, French Open winner Jelena Ostapenko and Garbine Muguruza following Kvitova.

Caroline Wozniacki has moved up to sixth in the rankings and is therefore just ahead of Konta as the fifth seed.
