Saturday morning was meant to see the women's downhill event in Crans Montana, but the race organisers in Switzerland had to abandon their plans because of a sudden onset of foggy conditions at the course. Despite repeated postponements, the conditions never improved sufficiently and it meant skiers such as Corinne Suter and Sofia Goggia missed out.

The women’s downhill at Crans Montana has been cancelled due to fog.
On Saturday morning in Switzerland fog descended suddenly in the morning and the race was unable to get started due to safety concerns for the athletes.
With the winter sports season coming to an end, the event represented one of the last downhill World Cups of 2023 until the next season begins.
After several postponements and judgements, the race was ultimately called off at 12pm British time.
The cancellation will frustrate many of the competitors in attendance and is a blow for Sofia Goggia, who is on her comeback from injury after struggling with disappointment at the World Championships.
Corinne Suter will also be disappointed given she had been due to start with the number six bib, which many believed would give her the best chance of victory.
Goggia currently leads the season leaderboard for the downhill discipline on 480 points, 108 ahead of her nearest rival Ilka Stuhec, while the overall is led by Mikaela Shiffrin, a full 731 clear of her closest challenger, Petra Vlhova.
