Marcel Hirscher capped a stunning 24 hours in Alta Badia with victory in the men's parallel giant slalom that strengthened his place at the top of the overall World Cup standings.
The seven-time reigning World Cup champion had never before won this parallel event – in this its fourth staging on the World Cup circuit.
But just a day after claiming giant slalom success on the same mountain, Hirscher was once again far too strong for his rivals.
In the final he downed France's Thibaut Favrot by 0.18seconds to take victory while Favrot claimed his first ever World Cup podium finish.
Third was Favrot's compatriot Alexis Pinturault who defeated Sweden's Matts Olsson in the small final.
Victory was Hirscher's 61st World Cup win in his career, levelling fellow Austrian Annemarie Moser-Proell on the all-time list.
