Josef Ferstl clinches World Cup victory in men’s Super-G

Josef Ferstl took advantage of being the first skier down the slopes when claiming Super-G victory at the World Cup event in Kitzbuhel.

Forty years after his father won in Austria, Ferstl Jr went down in 1:13.07 to finish 0.08 seconds ahead of Frances John Clarey.
The 30-year-old, who had previously only podiumed at a World Cup event on two different occasions, got down the Austrian piste in a time of 1:13.07, beating out France's Johan Clarey by just 0.08s, with Italian Dominik Paris claiming third, 0.1s back.

Ferstl clinches Super-G win in Kitzbuhel

The result sees the German climb to tenth in the World Cup Super-G standings, 21st overall, while Paris goes third in the Super-G and fourth overall as he added to the downhill victory he claimed on Friday.
Marcel Hirscher stays top of the overall standings and Henrik Kristoffersen second, with neither competing in the Super-G as they prepare for a return to action when competition moves to Schladming on Tuesday.
Italian Dominik Paris completed the podium with a time of 1:13.17, coming ahead of Austrian duo Vincent Kriechmayer and Matthias Mayer.
