Kernen to decide on future

Bruno Kernen will stay in hospital under observation until Friday after suffering knee ligament damage in a heavy fall at Lenzerheide. The Swiss skier suffered torn medial ligaments in his right knee, concussion and whiplash in a sickening crash in the me
He lost control on a jump, hit a gate and crashed through safety barriers on one of the fastest parts of the course.
Kernen was airlifted to hospital, and although he escaped relatively unscathed from a potentially life-threatening accident, the stresses skiing place on the knees mean a full recovery is needed in order to compete at the highest level.
However, no decision on Kernen's future will be made until after he has visited a specialist in Berne for further examinations.
Pierre-Emmanuel Dalcin was also airlifted off the course after another crash, and it was revealed he dislocated his shoulder, the same injury he sustained at Are two weeks ago.
