On Tuesday Shiffrin failed to finish a slalom run for the first time in four years, but just five days later the American was celebrating again.
She posted the fastest first run to take the lead at the halfway stage, and while she was only fourth quickest second time around she still did enough to claim the top step of the podium.
Shiffrin came home in a combined time of 1:39.61 minutes to finish 0.19 seconds ahead of Wendy Holdener of Switzerland, while Swede Frida Hansdotter was third – the exact standings after the first run.

The victory sees Shiffrin extend her lead atop the overall World Cup standings as she moved on to 948 points, with second-placed Lara Gut of Switzerland stuck on 643 after failing to qualify for the second run in Maribor.
And with five wins from six events, Shiffrin leads the slalom standings on 500 points, 110 ahead of Slovakian Veronika Velez Zuzulova who didn’t finish her first run in Slovenia.
