No Val d'Isere double for Lindsey Vonn as she withdraws with Winter Olympics on mind

After claiming victory in Saturday’s Super-G in Val d’Isere, Lindsey Vonn has withdrawn from Sunday’s event.
Vonn, who collected her first World Cup win of the season and her 78th overall in the French resort on Saturday, was scheduled to try and claim a double.
But citing her focus on the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang in February, Vonn said she wanted to rest her sore knee.
American Vonn had a nasty crash in the World Cup opener in Lake Louise on December 1 but somehow walked away uninjured.
The 33-year-old has had a number of injuries in recent seasons and is desperate to add to her one Olympic gold and one bronze come February.
