Hirscher took a commanding 0.63secs lead after a first-run time of 1:08.27, and the 28-year-old ended up posting a combined time of 2:18.04 to finish comfortably clear.
Pinturault was second after the first run, but he missed out on silver by 0.04 seconds after Kristoffersen shot up from 10th to second.
Hirscher’s tilt for a third gold comes in the slalom event, which gets under way on Thursday.
