Ryding sweeps to win

David Ryding turned in an untouchable performance to win the Seniors slalom at the British Championships in Meribel.
The Brit was quickest on both the first and second legs of the race, and finished 1.30 seconds clear of his nearest rival on aggregate.
A French trio took the next three spots, with Richard Antonioli second, Benjamin Gardet third and Steven Theolier just outside the podium positions.
TJ Baldwin, the 20-year-old who has powered to Super Combined and downhill victories in these championships already, was forced to settle for fifth place, 2.72 seconds behind Ryding's time.
Robert Bullen was the third-placed Brit, sixth overall.
In the women's giant slalom Ukrainian Bogdana Matsotska was a comfortable winner, beating 15-year-old Australian Greta Small by 1.35 seconds.
Alexandra Tilley, third overall, was the best of the Brits, 1.54 seconds behind the winning time.
The Scot, 17, was more than half a second faster than Natalie Beattie and Niki Sole, who took second and third places in the British competition.
