Mikaela Shiffrin extended her lead at the top of the overall and slalom FIS World Cup standings as she cruised to victory in the slalom event in Lienz, Austria.
The American has now won World Cup events in 22 different venues, moving one clear of Lindsey Vonn to trail only Vreni Schneider and Annemarie Moser-Proll.
And she dominated from the off in Austria, finishing her first run 1.14 seconds clear of the field.
In the second run she was a little more careful, but her overall time of 1:43.87 was enough for victory by 0.89 seconds from Switzerland’s Wendy Holdener in second.
Sweden’s Frida Hansdotter finished in third, while compatriot Estelle Alphand – daughter of former overall World Cup winner Luc Alphand – produced the fastest time on the second run to finish joint fifth, a career-best result.
Shiffrin’s win extends her lead in the slalom standings to 348 points from Petra Vlhova, who finished level with Alphand.
And the 22-year-old American is now 719 points ahead of Italy’s Sofia Goggia in the overall standings.
