The Liechtenstein skier secured the globe after rival Lara Gut, the only woman who could have denied her top spot, crashed out.
Italy’s Sofia Goggia took top spot in the race with a blistering run of 1:07.92, with Viktoria Rebensburg (+0.32s) and Lindsey Vonn (+0.53s) taking second and third respectively.
Speaking after the race, Goggia said:
It was a pretty tricky super-G and I tried to ski smart. I told my coach, 'Hey Gianluca, you put poetry on the slope today.'
Weirather finishes the season on 461 points. Gut finished on 375 points, with Anna Veith taking third on 339.
Speaking after collecting her Crystal Globe, Weirather said: "It's incredible. There's so much pressure on the last race, but last year was even worse. It was easier for me to deal with this year. I'm just really grateful for my whole team who brought me here."
