Eurosport expert Tina Maze spent some time with FIS President Johan Eliasch, who was quick to tell her that he believes the 2023 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships are the best edition of the event that he has attended. FIS president Eliasch: 'The best World Championships I've ever been to'

FIS president Johan Eliasch has told Eurosport's Tina Maze that these are the "best World Championships I have ever been to" after the latest drama at the event at Courchevel-Meribel.
The leader of the International Ski Federation was reflecting on the action so far at the World Championships with a multitude of big names creating memorable storylines - but also a string of shock victories that have provided refreshing results.
Speaking to Eurosport's Maze, the most successful Slovenian ski racer in history, Eliasch did not attempt to hide his delight at how the 47th edition of the famous event has played out.
"These are, I think, the best World Championships I have ever been to, and probably the best in the history of the FIS," Eliasch told Eurosport.
"It is tough to single out one particular athlete, but obviously Marco Odermatt, his run in the downhill was amazing.
"Also, I have to give a special mention to Michael Schwartz because he has been doing every discipline.
"Of course, for the women, I think it was great to see Mikaela [Shiffrin] win, and also I think Norway did great on the women's side. Ragnhild [Mowinckel], Federica [Brignone], Marta [Bassino] - it was good."
Maze added that she felt "the weather was amazing and the whole 14 days were incredible to watch" as she agreed with Eliasch.
