With a lack of snow wreaking havoc with the northern European winter sports programme, several World Cup teams are heading to the US earlier than planned.
For the past week, US men's and women's teams have been in Vail, Colorado, where conditions are cold with plenty of snow - in stark contrast to parts of Europe.
And the Norwegian men's team rolled into the US on Tuesday, with star man Aksel Lund Svindal ruing the lack of snow back at home.
"I’m really grateful today," Svindal said. "Conditions are really good. It’s nice to find some snow."
The Americans and Norwegians are expected to be joined in giant slalom and slalom training by the Canadian and Japanese men’s teams ,the Slovenian, Swedish, Swiss and Russian women’s teams and the men’s and women’s teams from Germany, Austria, Italy and Finland in the next week.
Conditions have also been favourable in parts of Canada, Saas Fee, the mountains of Sierra Nevada and Andorra.
