NFL chooses five host finalists for 2019, 2020 drafts

The winner or winners will be announced in May.

The NFL has recently rotated the draft after staging it in New York City from
1965-2014. The draft was held in Chicago in 2015-16 and in Philadelphia last
season.

The 2018 draft will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The combined Cleveland/Canton bid is due to the Browns being based in the
former city and the Pro Football Hall of Fame being located in nearby Canton.

"Being selected as one of five finalists to host either the 2019 or 2020 NFL
Draft in Cleveland and Canton is a great testament to our fans and the immense
passion for football in Northeast Ohio," Browns executive vice president/chief
financial officer Dave Jenkins said in a statement.

The Tennessee Titans pitched the capital of country music as a distinctive
place to conduct the draft.

"We are thrilled that Nashville is one of the finalist cities for the 2019 or
2020 NFL Draft," Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk said in a
statement. "We are so proud of Nashville and all that it has to offer. This
city has a number of unique qualities to showcase and of course it knows how
to put on a show. We look forward to making that case to the NFL owners in
May."

The draft has never been held in either the Mountain or Pacific time zones.
The city of Denver feels the high amount of sports-crazed fans in the area
make the Rocky Mountain city the right spot.

"As one of America's best sports cities, we are optimistic that Denver can
make a great case for hosting this marquis event," Denver Sports Commission
executive director Matthew Payne said in a statement. "We are pleased to hear
that Denver has made the shortlist of cities still under consideration to host
the 2019 or 2020 Draft, and we look forward to further dialogue about the
possibilities."
