NFL star shoots himself, gets charged by police for doing so

Ex-Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Josh Morgan accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun.

And now local police have added not insult, put prosecution to his injury: they have charged Morgan with "reckless use of a firearm" according to TMZ.
The 30-year-old is to appear in court in March.
Police in Virginia were called to the scene after Morgan shot himself on the evening of January 31st.
Morgan, who spent seven years in the NFL as a regular starter and earned $7.5m in the 2012 season, apparently claims to have been cleaning the gun when it went off.
TMZ's report goes on to add that Morgan had "non-life threatening injuries", with a spokesman telling the website that, "He's fine. It was a simple accident."
