Glasgow have unveiled their bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games with Olympic silver medallist Liz McColgan fully behind the plan.
The largest city in Scotland is competing with Abuja in Nigeria for the rights to host the event.
Hampden Park would be transformed into an athletics arena while the opening ceremony would take place at Parkhead with Ibrox staging the rugby sevens.
The cost of the event is estimated at £288 million, with the Games Village on the banks of the Clyde at Dalmarnock.
The final decision will be taken by the Commonwealth Games Federation's 71 member nations in Colombo on November 9 with Abuja looking to become the first African city to host the Games.
But McColgan, who won silver in the 10,000m in Seoul in 1998 plus gold at two Commonwealth Games, is hopeful.
She said: "This is the start of an exciting process. The Glasgow bid team have achieved so much in getting us this far and I wish them good luck in the next step."
