Chambers, 28, was absent from Athletics for almost three years after serving out a ban for using the banned steroid THG, part of the BALCO doping case that may yet see former coach Trevor Graham imprisoned.
Chambers' European 4x100m triumph in 2006 was tempered by strange scenes afterwards, team-mate and Great Britain captain Darren Campbell refusing to celebrate afterwards and launching into a strongly-worded attack on doping and those who do not "out" subversive coaches and doctors.
The London-born sprinter's official personal best for 100m is 9.97seconds, although he ran as quickly as 9.87s during the time which it was later agreed he was using illegal drugs.
Chambers, who is banned from all Olympic competition under UK Athletics rules but can take part in other tournaments, had previously tried out for the San Francisco 49'ers in 2004.
