It was a memorable day for Shericka Jackson, who set the fastest time by a woman this year to win the 100m in Jamaica’s national championships on Friday. Shashalee Forbes and Natasha Morrison came in second and third place, respectively. Jackson beat Sha'Carri Richardson's time of 10.71 seconds set in the US championships a day earlier. Rohan Watson won Jamaica's men 100m.

Shericka Jackson admits there is still room for improvement, despite setting the fastest time by a woman in the world this year.
Jackson won the 100m in 10.65 seconds at Jamaica’s national championships to become the fifth fastest woman of all time.
The 28-year-old sits alongside American Marion Jones on the all-time list, but insists there are still areas where she can get better.
"I think the ending needs a little fixing,” said Jackson in quotes published by BBC Sport. "I know I'm a strong finisher, but I still need to work on that a bit.
"I have to go back to the drawing board with my coach, but tonight I did a very good job."
Jackson will now head to the World Championships next month and will be joined by Shashalee Forbes and Natasha Morrison.
Forbes and Morrison finished in second and third place respectively behind Jackson to book their spots in Budapest.
Meanwhile, defending champion Shelly-Ann Pryce will also head to Hungary as defending world champion.
It was also a memorable day for Rohan Watson, who won the men’s event with a time of 9.91 seconds, setting the joint-ninth fastest time of the year.
The achievement was all the more special for the 21-year-old after setting the 10th best-ever time by a Jamaican in his first final at any level.
The men's event was won by Jackson's training partner Rohan Watson.
The 21-year-old won his first final at any level in 9.91secs, the joint-ninth fastest time of the year and 10th best ever by a Jamaican.
Elsewhere, Sha'Carri Richardson prevailed in the women’s 100m at the US championships, and her victory in 10.82 seconds secured a place in Budapest. Brittany Brown and Tamari Davis finished in second and third place, respectively.
It was redemption for Jackson after missing out on Tokyo 2020 after a positive cannabis test, and failing to qualify for last year’s World Championships.
"I'm not back, I'm better," Richardson said.
"I'm ready mentally, physically and emotionally, and I'm here to stay."
Cravont Charleston won the men’s 100m event in a time of 9.95 seconds to beat Christian Coleman by one hundredth of a second, while Noah Lyles came third.
