'One of the great performances!' - Kerr stuns Ingebrigtsen to win 1500m gold

2150 - THAT'S IT FROM DAY 5!

Another fantastic day of athletics. A shock winner, an agonisingly-close near winner and an all-time great performance. Join us again tomorrow night which is highlighted by the men's and women's 200m finals.

2140 - NO DOUBT ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT

Femke Bol needed a gold medal to rubber-stamp the greatness of her form in the last two years and she did so, winning by over a second.

2134 - WORLD ATHLETICS PUT HUDSON IN 200M FINAL

Iwan Thomas revealed on Eurosport, Andrew Hudson, who got glass in his eye from the buggy crash before his 200m semi-final, has been placed in the final. The Jamaican will run in lane 9. He bravely ran in the semi-final finishing sixth, despite extra treatment being needed and will now be in the final tomorrow.

2133 - WATCH HUDSON-SMITH GO AGONISINGLY CLOSE TO GOLD

He led for 380m but not when it mattered as Antonio Watson came through to win.

2124 - THOMAS' TAKE - MATT WILL BE A WORLD CHAMPION

"I really feel for Matt here in the last few strides. If I'm going to be super critical he went off maybe slightly too fast for the first 250m. But its a world championship final and he believed that was the way to do it - to attack it.
Matt will come back from this and I believe he'll be world champion next tine around.
"When I say he went off slightly too fast, not if he had had two or three days rest. but because he had to run so fast in the semi-final, his body's never had to go there before, he's never had to run 44 low in two consecutive days. But I think he should be so, so proud, bronze last time out, he's ran a European record here, he's just missed out and got a silver in a final.
"At the moment he'll be hurting because he'll think it was a great chance to be a world champion and it was, but he can look back and say the last (British) athlete to get a silver medal was Roger Black in 1991 and that was a long time ago."

2116 - THOMAS' TAKE - FIRST OF MANY FOR 'MAJESTIC' BOL

"She is simply majestic, she's flawless the way she hurdles, the way she paces it. Her strength is her strength. I think silver medal probably hurt her last year, she knows she's better than that.
I actually wonder how many medals one day we'll talk about Femke Bol having won.
"She dominates week in, week out. Her flat speed we know is up there with best in the world, she hurdles well - she's a bit like Karsten Warholm, I don't know how you're going to beat her."

2110 - ANOTHER GREAT NIGHT OF ATHLETICS

And as always we'll leave you with the takes of the day from Iwan Thomas.

2105 - NEITA ON HER PERSONAL BEST IN SEMI-FINAL

Producing her best run when she needed it was enough to qualify for the final.

2031 - MEN'S 400M IS MOMENTS AWAY

Can Hudson-Smith repeat his brilliant semi-final - and will it be enough for gold?

2027 - WILLIAMS WINS IN AN UPSET

Just moments away from the starting gun.

2019 - BUSINESS IS ABOUT TO PICK UP

2016 - ROGERS DOMINATING HAMMER

The Canadian Camryn Rogers has made the three longest throws and leads with 77.22m.

2008 - GOOD EFFORT FROM PINNOCK...BUT NOT ENOUGH

He has taken the lead with the last jump. He has extended the lead to 8.52m! Can Pinnock respond...

Last year's bronze medallist Marco Arop should qualify.

1955 - AS YOU WERE IN THE LONG JUMP

1953 - MOULA WINS THE HEAT, PATTISON FINISHES THIRD

Masalela eased through for second ahead of the Briton who finished well but will have to wait to see if he is a fastest loser.

1950 - MEN'S 800M SEMIS GOING OFF NOW

Ben Pattison runs for Team GB in Heat 1.

1945 - LYLES LEADS ALL THE WAY

He wins by a street in 19.76, with Dominican Alexander Ogando finishing second. Andre De Grasse qualifies as a fastest loser.

1944 - THE THIRD, WHAT WAS MEANT TO BE HEAT 1, OF THE 200M IS GOING OFF NOW

Noah Lyles runs in this.

1938 - HUGHES FINISHES SECOND BEHIND KNIGHTON

Not a great start from Hughes but he finished just four hundredths of a second behind Knighton in 20.02. Canada's De Grasse should qualify in third with 20.10.

1937 - HUGHES HEAT IS RUNNING NEXT

Heat 1 was delayed due to the golf buggy incident.

1931 - BEDNAREK AND TEBOGO QUALIFY COMFORTABLY

Both were chatting halfway down the back straight. Bednarek finishes in 19.96 a hundredth of a second in front.

There will be no sharing gold like the pole vault.

It would be surprising if Shericak Jackson and 100m winner Sha'Carri Richardson do not claim the two automatic final berths.

1857 - GREAT RUN FROM NEITA
