2146 - COULD THERE HAVE BEEN A MORE FITTING WAY TO END BUDAPEST 23?

She began the tournament in tears, falling and dropping the baton on day two of the competition. She ended it with as amazing an anchor leg as you will ever see. Femke Bol, we salute you.

2140 - THOMAS' TAKE - ON THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

"There's so many, obviously Mondo Deplantis nearly got a world record [in the Decathlon].
"[Yulimar] Rojas with the last jump of the competition had to bring it out.
You cant deny the American king of the track [Noah Lyles] going home with three gold medals. What he's done here is pretty special.
"It's tough because there's so many."

2135 - THOMAS' TAKE - ON BOL'S FINISH TO THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

It didn't start so well for her but she goes home the queen with two gold medals.
"The 4x400 has never failed to deliver they're always the last event of the championship and that's because they bring drama.
"She had a great, great team with her. I actually thought she'd left it too late but she believed in her strength and timed it to perfection."

2125 - THOMAS' TAKE - BEST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS EVER?

I've got to think really hard to find a championships better than this.
"Not just the Hungarian people and how great they've been, the organisation has been fantastic...but the athletes. They've all really delivered. I can't think of any final where I thought that's just okay, everyone has been action-packed, so I probably think this is the best ever."

2115 - THE ATHLETES ARE CONGREGATING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD

The crowd giving them a deserved ovation for their efforts over this nine days.

That is a blow.

1935 - INGEBRIGTSEN WINS ON THE LINE

He pips Katir of Spain a few metres before the line in 13:11.30. Krop of Kenya comes through to win bronze. The slow pace really played into his hands there.

The other big names are all in the pack behind them. Ingebrigtsen is fifth.

All eyes on Jakob Ingebrigtsen, can he make up for the 1500m disappointment.

1905 - THE WOMEN'S HIGH JUMP IS NOW UNDERWAY

Olympic champion Eleanor Patterson the first to jump and has no problem with 1.85m.

The women's high jump and men's javelin promise to provide the drama we have seen from so many of the field events over these nine days.

1840 - RELAY DRAMA GUARANTEED WITH 4x400Ms

Surely they can't compare to the mixed relay can they? You wouldn't be surprised. A great way to end the championship.

1830 - WELCOME TO THE FINAL EVENING!

Does it have to end? What a championship this has been. Before we mourn its loss, we have so much to look forward to tonight. The highlight being the 800m when we are keeping everything crossed Keely Hodgkinson can take gold and Jemma Reekie snare a medal too.
