When does the MLB season start?

The MLB season started in South Korea last week as the Dodgers and San Diego Padres played two games against each other. The pair split the two games with the Dodgers edging a tight one in the first game before the Padres won a high-scoring affair in the second.
Opening Day for the rest of the league is in Thursday, March 28.

What are Opening Day MLB fixtures are on TNT Sports?

TNT Sports will bring you back-to-back MLB action from Opening Day.
The new season kicks off with the New York Mets hosting the Milwaukee Brewers, live on TNT Sports 3 from 5pm UK time.
That contest is followed by the Chicago Cubs at the Texas Rangers, starting at 11.30pm UK time on TNT Sports.

What are the MLB storylines to watch?

The LA Dodgers were the big spenders of the off-season.
Not only did the Dodgers shell out enormous money to bring in Shohei Ohtani, a rare two-way star who shone as a pitcher and hitter for the Angels, but they also gave pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto a whopping 12-year deal reportedly worth $325m (£256.2m).
The Dodgers have won 10 of the last 11 NL West titles but have only won the World Series once in that time. The expectations are now huge that more rings will be on the way to LA.
The Texas Rangers are the defending champions but start the season without several injured players, including pitchers Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer.
The last team to win back-to-back World Series was the New York Yankees in 2000.
Speaking of the Yankees, it says plenty about how good they have been for most of this century that their 82-80 record last season was their worst since 1992.

They have bolstered their line-up with the additions of hitter Juan Soto and pitcher Marcus Stroman, but how far the Yankees go this season could depend on the health of star pitcher Gerrit Cole and five-time All-Star slugger Aaron Judge.
The Atlanta Braves recorded an MLB-leading 104 wins last season but might need some more magic from Ronald Acuna Jr to reach that number again. Acuna became the first player in MLB history to hit 40 homers and record 70 stolen bases, and was duly named the National League MVP.
The Oakland Athletics had the worst record in MLB last season, winning 50 games and losing 112, and it looks unlikely they will go out on a high in their last season at the Oakland Coliseum.
Instead it could be another season of turmoil for the A's, who are making a largely unpopular move to Las Vegas in 2028 but are currently without a home for 2025.
