Heat's James sticks it to former employers Cavaliers

With his sidekick Dwyane Wade taking the night off, James scored 25 points in the first quarter. For the game, he converted 14-of-19 shots from the field, including six-of-eight from three-point range.

James, who played seven years with the Cavaliers, now has a 13-1 record against his old team since he left in 2010 for the Heat (46-19).

The short-handed Cavaliers (26-42) had six players score in double figures, but were without top two scorers Kyrie Irving (strained biceps tendon) and Luol Deng (sprained ankle).

Jeff Teague scored 34 points and forward Paul Millsap had his first career triple-double as the Atlanta Hawks edged past the Toronto Raptors in overtime.

Millsap, playing his 600th NBA game, had 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists as the Hawks (31-35) recorded their season-best fifth straight win after losing 14 of the previous 15 contests.

DeMar DeRozan scored 29 and fellow guard Kyle Lowery added 20 for the Atlantic Division leader Raptors (37-29).

Lowery scored on a drive with 8.1 seconds left to send the game into overtime at 106-106.
