The Los Angeles Lakers stormed to a dramatic 128-124 win over the Milwaukee Bucks in double overtime, despite trailing by 19 points at one stage in the fourth quarter.
Without LeBron James, the Lakers were second best and chasing the Bucks for much of the game, but 34 points from Anthony Davis, including 23 rebounds, helped them pull off the stunning late comeback.
A late rally which saw the Lakers outscore the Bucks 26-7 forced the overtime period where the two tiring teams continued to slug it out.
A second overtime was needed with Austin Reaves coming up clutch with a big three-pointer that proved the decisive score of the game.
"High level basketball," said Davis afterwards. "Great game. Two teams competing."
Davis, who featured for 53 minutes - the most of any Lakers player in a game since the late Kobe Bryant in 2012 - added: "A 20-point lead in this league now, it's nothing because of the way the offense is right now in the league.
"So high-powered that you can wipe away a lead pretty fast."
The Lakers' final lead - courtesy of Reaves' three from deep - came with 38.6 seconds left, with the Bucks unable to find an answer. Giannis Antetokounmpo missed two free throws as the clock ticked down.
"This is the stuff you dream about as a kid," he said. "Being on the road with your guys, battling out an amazing team and having opportunities to make big shots."
Reaves himself put up a triple-double on the night consisting of 29 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, while D'Angelo Russell contributed 29 points and 12 assists for LA.
For the Bucks, Antetokounmpo made 29 points, 21 rebounds and 11 assists and was keen to see his team bounce back from this setback.
"We've got to watch this game, learn from this game," Antetokounmpo said. "Watch why we weren't able to get a stop. Watch why the ball wasn't moving down the stretch. Watch why we lost the game. Watch why there was a lot of 50-50 balls and we weren't able to get them."
Elsewhere, Luka Doncic helped the Dallas Mavericks to a fifth-straight win after scoring 28 points in 132-96 rout of the Sacramento Kings.
Klay Thompson scored 28 points as the Golden State Warriors beat the Miami Heat 113-92.
Oklahoma City Thunder edged out New Orleans Pelicans 119-112 thanks to 26 points put up by Jalen Williams.
