The Chicago Bulls overhauled a 23-point deficit to claim a dramatic 129-123 overtime win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It was the perfect response to a 123-115 defeat to the Sacramento Kings, as Coby White and DeMar DeRozan led the way with 33 points, Nikola Vucevic added 24, while Andre Drummond took 16 with 16 rebounds and four blocked shots.
Anthony Edwards did his best to turn the tide in the Timberwolves’ favour with 38 points and 12 rebounds, while Karl-Anthony Towns took 33.
A pulsating clash culminated in DeRozan scoring the first six points of overtime, registering more than 30 points for a fifth time this season.
He helped fill the void left by Patrick Williams and Zach LaVine, the latter set to miss the rest of the season with foot surgery later this week.
Edwards impressively managed to go 5 for 9 from 3, but was subsequently penalised for a charging foul in overtime and the task became too much for Minnesota.
"Coby White is an incredible basketball player,” said Bulls center Andre Drummond in quotes published by AP.
“This is what he does. He was really big for us in that third (quarter), hitting a lot of big shots. Defensively he was great, it was an all-round great night for him. He was a great leader for us today.”
“We collectively did a better job on Edwards in the second half,” added Bulls coach Billy Donovan.
“We did a better job of pressing up on Towns on some of the catch-and-shoot opportunities he had in the first half. When we’re able to get stops, we’re able to get out and force a little tempo for us and generate some easy baskets.”
Minnesota will now turn their attention to a clash away at the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, while the Bulls are back on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies on the same day.

Durant wins Giannis duel

Elsewhere, Kevin Durrant came out on top in his clash with Giannis Antetokounmpo, as the Phoenix Suns overcame the Milwaukee Bucks 114-106.
Durant scored 28 points on the night, with arguably his crowning glory coming in the form of a superb dunk over Antetokounmpo.
The 35-year-old has just been named in his 14th All-Star team, and he showed the reasons why after another commanding performance.
Devon Booker led the way for the Suns with 32 points, as the Arizona outfit moved 79-73 in front in the fourth quarter and did not relinquish their advantage from that point.
Durant scored with a free throw to increase the Suns’ lead to 93-80 with eight minutes and 51 seconds remaining.
Speaking after the match, he said in quotes published by AP: “They just forget me for a split-second, then I'm in the middle of the paint, and it's on me to finish.
“I'm glad I didn't pull up for a floater or a mid-range.”
Antetokounmpo was the highest points scorer for the Bucks with 34 and claimed 10 rebounds, while Malik Beasley amassed a further 22.
“I thought we fought - hung in there,” added Bucks coach Doc Rivers.
“You knew at some point, you just felt at some point, we wouldn't have enough offense on the floor and that's probably what happened.
"I thought defensively we were really good tonight.”
The Bucks are next in action in an aforementioned clash with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday, while the Suns are back at home against the Utah Jazz on the same day.
