Another night, and more history in the NBA. French superstar rookie Victor Wembanyama has lit up his first campaign with the San Antonio Spurs and he was at it again on Thursday night as his team - back on home soil for the first time in 10 outings - broke their losing streak. Elsewhere, LeBron James took his LA Lakers to a stunning overtime win over the Washington Wizards.

Victor Wembanyama made more NBA history on Thursday night as the San Antonio Spurs snapped their five-game losing streak, while LeBron James' LA Lakers were victorious in overtime.
Wembanyama, despite the Spurs' poor form this season, has torn things up since arriving in the NBA, and he created a first against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The 20-year-old Frenchman became the first player in NBA history to record 25+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ assists, 5+ blocks, and 5+ 3PM (Three Pointers Made) in a single game as he joint top-scored for his team alongside Devin Vassell with 28 points - outshining Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren in the process.
"I missed this s***. I love it," Wembanyama said afterwards on court.
"It's a lot of mental. You know Kobe [Bryant, the late Los Angeles Lakers star] said to win a game, it mostly takes shots, big shots, because they don't call like any fouls.
"It's not as much the physical battle. Even though in defence it's 90 per cent effort, but offensively it's a lot of mental."
LeBron was another man in fine form on Thursday night, netting 31 points as he and Anthony Davis proved an irresistible double act for the Lakers against the struggling Washington Wizards.
It was the Wizards' 13th loss in a row, but they came so close against the Lakers, who could be grateful for some clutch plays from James as the clock ticked down.
James is now just nine points away from 40,000 points in the NBA - a record he would be the first to ever achieve.
“We had to get some stops, and we had to execute offensively,” James said.
“Not turn the ball over. It’s a tough league, and after last night’s victory, we had to come in against a young, scrappy team that’s not playing for much, just playing hard, a lot of speed, a lot of youth, and obviously it took us 53 minutes to get the job done.”
The Lakers are now 33-28 for the season, and sit ninth in the Western Conference.
Elsewhere in the NBA, Steph Curry was in New York to lead his Golden State Warriors side past the Knicks, landing 31 points in a 110-99 victory.
A Giannis Antetokounmpo-inspired Milwaukee Bucks display saw them down the Charlotte Hornets 111-99, while there were also wins for the Orlando Magic, the New York Nets, the Phoenix Suns and the Denver Nuggets.
