Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever lost their sixth game of the season as they fell 99-80 to the Las Vegas Aces on Saturday evening.
The Aces’ A’ja Wilson starred in front of her home crowd with 29 points and 15 rebounds as she cemented herself as one of the best players in the WNBA.
Clark, who is seen as one of the best to come through after her record-breaking college exploits, scored eight points, though contributed five rebounds, seven assists and six turnovers.
Those eight points represent her lowest score of the season so far, and it is the second time she has failed to break double digits in this campaign.
The rookie also struggled in her previous outing, when the Fever defeated the Los Angeles Sparks.
Clark’s team-mates Kelsey Mitchell scored 16 points, Temi Fagbenle added13 and Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull both netted 12.
In contrast, the Aces’ top scorers were in better form, as Jackie Young scored 22 points and Kelsey Plum notched 20.
The Fever have had a difficult start to their season as they have played seven games in 12 days, winning just one of them. They have also played five of those matches away from home.
Their next match is at home, in Indiana, as they welcome the Sparks with an opportunity to make it two wins from two against the Californians.
