With the ladies going first in the event made up of two women's legs and two men's legs, Tora Berger led Norway to a 16.5-second lead over Germany and 17.7 seconds over Sweden after the first leg.
Russia's Irina Malgina had to use five-of-six spares on the Russian's first leg, dropping them to 15th at 1:45.6 off pace and virtually out of contention.
On the second leg Olofsson skied better than she has in any of her three medal-winning performances at these championships to make up for three spare shots and put Sweden 13.8 seconds ahead of Slovenia at the second exchange.
Simone Denkinger, meanwhile, had her own meltdown for Germany, taking two penalty loops and dropping into ninth at a full two minutes and 4.4 seconds off pace.
Bjoern Ferry and Carl Johan Bergman took from their staving off first the Norwegian, then the French challenge to secure the team victory.
