Norway’s Tora Berger produced a flawless shooting performance to secure IBU biathlon World Cup victory in Ruhpolding, Germany.
The 29-year-old, who secured Olympic 15km victory in Vancouver last February, romped home in 20:33.3 minutes to top the podium in Germany.
Home favourite Andrea Henkel also hit all her targets but was forced to settle for silver, losing out by just 1.1 seconds in a sprint finish.
And her compatriot Magdalena Neuner showed glimpses of the form that saw her pick up two gold medals and one silver in Vancouver, completing the podium in third.
Kaisa Makarainen of Finland, the overall World Cup leader, could only manage eighth place but she maintains her overall lead with 493 points.
Second is Sweden’s Helena Ekholm is in second place with 461 while Henkel (400) moves up to third with her bronze medal.
