Boe leads Norway to men's biathlon relay win in Ruhpolding

Johannes Thingnes Boe anchored Norway to a sixth straight men's relay win in the 4x7.5km race at the biathlon World Cup meet in Ruhpolding.
The quartet of Boe, his older brother Tarjei, Sturla Holm Laegreid and Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen were the class of the field and are now unbeaten in a year thanks to a dominant victory.
There was some trouble early on when Laegreid was forced to take a penalty in the opening leg, though Boe put Norway in front after the final exchange and a sublime anchor leg powered his team to victory.
A battling display from Germany saw them claim a silver medal on home snow, 20.1 seconds behind their Norwegian rivals, while France finished third and Sweden just missed out on a podium spot in fourth.
"The win was special because it reaffirmed the lesson of never giving up when things go south," said Boe.
"Today was special since we started with a penalty loop. We built up, taking every second we could. In the end that is what put us in first place.
"It was a good team spirit and a good lesson to always fight to the end."
Action in Ruhpolding will continue this weekend with three more events still to come.
On Saturday the women's 4x6km relay will be contested, while Sunday sees the men's and women's individual mass starts take place.
