Norwegian biathlete Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen rose to the occasion to claim his first IBU World Cup victory with a scintillating performance in Soldier Hollow.
The 26-year-old triumphed in the men's 10km sprint in 23:29.7 after finishing 1.3 seconds ahead of France's Simon Desthieux, who won Olympic gold in the mixed relay at PyeongChang 2018.
Roman Rees completed the medals after edging out his German compatriot Erik Lesser by 0.6 seconds, denying him his first career podium in the process.
Johannes Thingnes Boe finished in fifth place in Utah, 41.5 seconds behind fellow Norwegian Christiansen, but it was enough to secure him the Sprint Globe for the first time.
Boe's finish saw him open up a 130-point advantage over his nearest rival Alexander Loginov, with the Russian on 264 points compared to the Norwegian's 394.
