Germany maintained their dominance in the team competition at the Skeleton and Bobsleigh World Championships as they made it four in a row in Whistler.
The German team of Christopher Grotheer in the men's skeleton, Anna Kohler and Lisa Sophie Gericke in the two-woman bobsleigh, Sophia Griebel in the women's skeleton and finally Johannes Lochner and Marc Rademacher in the two-man bob took the gold by just 0.15 seconds from Canada.
It was the pairing of Lochner and Rademacher who made the difference, with the fastest run in the fourth and final event.
That allowed the Germans to overhaul the Canadian hosts, as well as the USA who claimed silver and bronze respectively.
That gold is a fourth successive one for Germany, with Lochner having been part of the team in the last three in addition to his silver in 2015.
Germany have now won three gold medals out of a possible three at the World Championships, with the men's and women's skeleton and the four-man bobsleigh still to come.
