Former WBA light-flyweight champion Brahim Asloum has announced his retirement from the ring following a dispute with French TV company Canal Plus.
Asloum, who, won a Gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, reportedly has had a long standing dispute with Canel Plus, who promote his fights. The facts of the dispute are not clear but reports suggest the 30 year-old has decided to retire rather than continue to battle it out with the tv company.
Asloum became the first Frenchman to win both Olympic Gold and a version of the world.
