Boxer and former UFC champion Francis Ngannou mourns death of 15-month-old son Kobe

The tragic news of the death of Francis Ngannou's 15-month-old son Kobe emerged late on Monday. The likes of Conor McGregor and Ngannou's trainer, Eric Nicksick, sent their condolences to Ngannou, who made the switch from UFC into boxing last year, and has since faced high-profile fights against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Francis Ngannou is mourning the death of his 15-month-old son Kobe.
The 37-year-old announced the news with a post on X, which read: "Too soon to leave but yet he's gone.
"My little boy, my mate, my partner Kobe was full of life and joy. Now, he's laying without life. I shouted his name over and over but he's not responding.
"I was my best self next to him and now I have no clue of who I am. Life is so unfair to hit us where it hurts the most.
“How do you deal with such a thing? How can you live with it? Please help me if you have an idea because I really don’t know what to do and how to deal with this.”
Ngannou's trainer Eric Nicksick offered his support to the former heavyweight champion and reflected on a "heavy few days".
"Words can't express the pain we all feel for the Ngannou family during this time," Nicksick wrote.
"Please keep Francis and his family in your heart, and may this be a reminder of the fragility of life. Say 'I love you' more often, tomorrow isn't guaranteed."
Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor also offered his condolences on X, saying: "I am so sorry to hear of your loss Francis, my prayers are with you and your family at this time."
After a career in the UFC, Ngannou crossed over into boxing last year and contested a high-profile bout with Tyson Fury.
He gave the current WBC world champion a huge scare in the 'Battle of the Baddest' bout in Saudi Arabia as Fury secured a controversial split-decision win.
Ngannou subsequently faced Anthony Joshua in March and was beaten after a second-round stoppage.
