British boxer John Donnelly has been hit with a two-year suspension for failing a doping test.
The 28-year-old is 13-3 since turning professional in 2007, and his last bout was a first round knockout defeat to Paul Butler in November.
‘Dangerous’ Donnelly tested positive for benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, on the day of the Butler fight and will be banned until November 26, 2014, according to UK Anti-Doping.
Donnelly is a former English super-flyweight champion.
