Francis Ngannou almost caused an almighty shock in the 'Battle of the Baddest' clash with Tyson Fury in October and his impressive performance has now been recognised by the WBC. The Cameroonian - who has since been linked with fights against Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder - has been ranked the No. 10 heavyweight. Fury has his eye on an undisputed heavyweight contest against Oleksandr Usyk.

Francis Ngannou has been ranked the No. 10 heavyweight by the WBC following his epic ‘Battle of the Baddest’ contest with Tyson Fury last month.
Ngannou promised to “kick into that nest and expose” the decision to award an under-par Fury the victory after the former UFC heavyweight champion knocked the Briton down.
Many had expected the 37-year-old to be declared the winner after a hugely impressive performance against the undefeated fighter in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with TNT Sports expert Carl Frampton insisting Ngannou had won the fight.
In the build-up to the fight, Fury boasted he could "drink 25 pints of beer and still beat" Ngannou. Afterwards, Frampton claimed the ‘Gypsy King’ had overlooked his opponent.
At their annual convention, the WBC said Ngannou would come in at No. 10, with Deontay Wilder ranked as the No. 1 contender for Fury’s WBC title.
Anthony Joshua is second, with Arslanbek Makhmudov, Frank Sanchez and Efe Ajagba rounding off the top five.
Otto Wallin, who is preparing for a December bout with Joshua in Saudi Arabia, is ninth, but Britain's Joe Joyce didn’t make the top 10.
While a mandatory challenger for Fury’s title will be revealed next year, the 'Gypsy King' has turned his attentions to his undisputed heavyweight contest against Oleksandr Usyk, which looks set to happen in February.
Ngannou, meanwhile, would like a rematch with Fury and has also been linked with a bout against Joshua and Wilder.
