WBO No.2-ranked junior middleweight, Lukas Konecny, dismantled Frenchman Serge Vigne in Hamburg.
The fight was stopped in the seventh round after Vigne"s fourth meeting with the mat.
Now Konecny is calling out Michelle Piccirillo for the WBO"s top contendership at 154-pounds. "Konecny would [love] a rematch against Piccirillo," Thomas Wischnewski of SES Boxing, Konecny"s management, proclaimed after the fight. "We want to talk with Piccirillo."
Piccirillo won a unanimous decision over Konecny in a 2006 EBU junior middleweight title fight, but was knocked down in the second round. This match would enhance the stakes: a shot at Sergiy Dzinziruk"s WBO junior middleweight crown.
Piccirillo is scheduled to defend his EBU title against Hussein Bayram on May 18. Dzinziruk is without a challenger at the moment for his WBO junior middleweight title defence on May 19 in Hamburg.
