WBC Heavyweight Championship - Maskaev vs. Peter - Officials
Referee: Guadelupe Garcia, Mexico
Judges: Ken Morita (Japan), Herminio Cuevas (Mexico) & Daniel Van de Wiele (Belgium)
Supervisor: Rex Walker, Colorado
The main support will see undefeated WBA, IBF and WBO lightweight world champion Juan ’Baby Bull’ Diaz facing IBF No.1 ranked mandatory challenger Nate ’Galaxxy Warrior’ Campbell.
Also, with rumours circling that former world champion Jose Luis Castillo was struggling to make weight for his own match, in an unusual occurrence on Thursday, the boxer was invited by WBC President Jose Sulaiman to step on the scales after the heavyweights in advance of Friday’s official weigh in for the lower-weight fighters on the Don King promoted undercard.
Castillo tipped the scales at 147 ½ lbs and will need to make 140 lbs by Friday’s official weigh-in to qualify for the scheduled WBC super lightweight eliminator against undefeated WBC No.1 ranked contender Timothy ’Desert Storm’ Bradley.
