Shane Byrne won Race 2 at Brands Hatch by almost six seconds to complete a perfect Round 6 of the British Superbikes Championship.
The BeWiser Ducati rider led from lap two and when challengers Dan Linfoot and Josh Brookes – the 2015 champion – crashed out, it left him more than four seconds clear of the field.
And the five-time champion made no mistake as he picked up maximum points again – and his 17th win at the circuit – to extend his lead at the top of the standings to 29 points from Kawasaki's Luke Mossey.
James Ellison came a distant second with Chrstian Iddon third.
Race 1 - Byrne comes from 9th to snatch win
Byrne came from ninth position to take victory at Brands Hatch in Race 1.
In a race which saw the lead swap hands several times, with Mossey, Linfoot and Peter Hickman all challenging, the 40-year-old showed his patience and class to snatch the win.
Byrne, who had a slow start to the season at Donington where a crash ruled him out of the opening race weekend, made the decisive move just a couple of laps from the end and took the 25 points when the red flag was brought out due to light rainfall.
Top 5 in standings after Round 6
1. Shane Byrne: 190 pts
2. Luke Mossey: 161
3. Leon Haslam: 159
4. Jason O'Halloran: 133
